My colon doctor called on a Friday evening (February 06, 2009) at 5:45pm on the phone and said, "Craig, you have onset of cancer and the best way to proceed is remove the whole colon and you won't be chasing bad guys any more."

I'm a high school English Teacher in the New York City Public School System. There has been a history of cancer in my family. My grandfather had an intestinal cancer- we assume it was colon cancer. He died young, when my father was 18. My father was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2001. His tumor was removed and he is currently cancer free!
