ASCRS News, the newsletter of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, featured a front page article about the recent Twin Cities Get Your Rear in Gear 5K Run/Walk in Edina, Minnesota. ASCRS worked with the Colon Cancer Coalition to make the event a success, bringing over 100 Society members to the race and helping to raise much needed funds for awareness and research. The 2010 ASCRS Annual Meeting was held in downtown Minneapolis and also set records for attendance. According to the article, “Public Relations Committee Chair Dr. Harry T. Papaconstantinou, Temple, TX, is working to arrange another Get Your Rear in Gear event in connection with the 2011 Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
